Praying and reading the Word of God are very important things in the life of a Christian.
Look at the things that can happen to you, when you stop praying and reading the word of God in your life.
First, you will lack God's protection. The Bible says that God protects those who trust in Him. Praying before you go to bed and when you wake up is a way to allow God to take care of you because you cannot protect or take care of yourself.
When you fail to read the word and pray, you may be in great danger of lacking the divine protection within you. The scripture tells us from the book of Psalm 91 verse four. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
Secondly, you will lack Peace and Tranquility. Praying and reading the word of God brings peace and tranquility to a person's heart. When you sleep surrendering yourself to God, you know that you are in safe hands. If you do not pray, you can lose peace and tranquility within yourself.
The Scriptures tell us from the book of Philippians four, verses six to seven. Do not be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Third, you will miss the opportunity to thank God in your life. Before you go to bed, it is a good time to thank God for all the things He has done for you throughout the day. If you do not get a chance to read the word and pray, you miss the opportunity to show your gratitude before God. The Bible says in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. First Thessalonians five and eighteen.
Another thing you will miss is being close to God. Praying and reading the Word is a great way to build a relationship with God. If you don’t pray or read the Word, you are missing out on the opportunity to grow in faith and know God better. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James chapter four verse eight.
Finally, you will lack divine guidance. God usually speaks to us through His word and prayer. When you pray and read the word of God, you allow God to guide you and give you direction in your life. If you do not, you lack guidance from God and thus lead yourself or allow the devil to lead you. Realize that a man’s steps are always strengthened by the LORD, and He loves his way. Though he stumbles, he will not fall to the ground, the LORD holds him by the hand and supports him. Psalms thirty-seven, twenty-three to twenty-four.
My beloved friend of God, do not try to let a day pass without praying or reading the Word of God. Praying and reading the Word of God are very important things for every Christian. They are things that go together, they are not separate. Do not neglect the importance of praying and meditating on the Word of God in your life every day. God bless you greatly.
